How We Started

Light UP was started by Rosanna Sloan after she noticed the lack of affordable drama classes and training for children in and around Southampton, Hampshire, in November 2014. So Light UP began in Hamble.

Since then we have grown quickly and have the pleasure of working with over 300 young people each week, and even more through our parties and workshops. We run classes and workshops across Hampshire from Emsworth to Dibden Purlieu in Southampton, Fareham, Eastleigh, Gosport and more.

Our engaging and dynamic classes are open to 4-16 year olds, and are ideal for building young people's confidence, helping them to develop their creativity and communication skills, and to encourage them to have fun and make friends.

What makes Light UP different?

  • Light UP is a registered charity.

  • We are linked to a professional, working theatre company

  • Our companies and academies perform ambitious and challenging shows, such as site-specific promenade shows and original productions.
