Teachers
Courtney Fayle
Courtney studied a BFA in Theatre Management and Productions at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, graduating with a Magna Cum Laude in 2009. She went on to become the Managing Director of SouthWisco KidStage, an after-school franchise where she worked as both a manager and teacher, before moving to England in 2014.
Working as the General Manager of Light UP, as well as our professional theatre Unexpected Places, makes Courtney instrumental in ensuring the delivery of inclusive, high-quality and unexpected performances.
Rosie Peters
Theatre has always been a huge part of my life, and I never imagined myself pursuing a career in anything else. Graduating with a degree in Drama, I have gone on to work with young people as a director and practitioner, while also trying my hand at anything and everything else along the way. I love everything from creating large scale productions to playing Simon Says. I have always thought that getting to work with young people in a theatrical setting must be the best job in the world! As the Youth Theatre and Outreach Officer, I am dedicated to ensuring that every young person we work with gains invaluable skills and, most importantly, has a lot of fun!
'A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.'
-Roald Dahl
Juli Richards
I have taught and run a number of theatre schools for more than twenty-five years, joining Light UP to teach young people what they can achieve in the theatre. I do private tutoring and LAMDA teaching as well for the older kids looking to pursue a career onstage. Performance really is at the heart of my life. I have played many roles and directed many plays, was the Artistic Director of a theatre, and worked as a TV extra. But my passions have always been very eclectic. Before teaching drama, I was a qualified nurse. I love singing - I even had a band of my own. I love animals - I’ve owned enough to make a zoologist weep - from cats and dogs, to hamsters and rabbits, to horses and donkeys and goats, oh my! As you can probably tell, I don’t do anything by halves.
