Drama Inset Days
Let Light UP take the hassle out of inset days!
Inset days are great for schools...
but often difficult for parents to arrange childcare for.
WE CAN HELP!
Light UP will come to your school for a one day workshop on your inset days, with families picking up and dropping off their little ones as usual, as they look forward to a day of drama fun!
Helping families with childcare
Bring students together
Developing students' confidence and creativity
Raising money for your school
Providing extra opportunities for students
WHO WE ARE
Light UP is a not for profit organisation. We run performing art classes in Hampshire. We set up in 2014, to ensure more young people have access to the many benefits drama has to offer, at affordable prices. All our classes focus on building young people's confidence, self-esteem, and social skills.
All our teachers are inspirational, experienced and are DBS checked with Paediatric First Aid Certificates
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Send us an email to notify us of your inset days.
2. We'll send you a letter - to distribute to parents.
3. Parents book a place through our website.
4. We confirm who is running the workshop and send the teacher's DBS details.
5. We will confirm the numbers with you a few days before the workshop.
6. We come it and run the workshop from start to finish.
7. We give your school or PTA 15% of the funds to help the school.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Each spot is £20 for the day, with any additional siblings or current Light UP members, at £10.
We then give the school or PTA 15% of the total fees collected. We need 10 children to run a session. Families can pay through our website. There is no charge to the school.
What do you need from us?
We can't wait to know the students at your school!
All we need from you is an email to email@example.com to let us know you'd like to work with us.
Then let us know the inset days and the space you have available - and we'll do the rest.
What Do you DO IN THE WORKSHOPS?
We choose a theme or play...
such as Disney Musicals, Greatest Showman, Julia Donaldson Characters or Matilda.
Then we pack the day full with games and activities.
We often get the groups working well together with some games, get creative with some improvisation, work on a piece of script and a song - and them perform to each other before home time.
